Laughing gas, new toothbrushes, clean teeth…
Disclaimer: We have had a heinous course of events that has led to the destruction of my cell phone that had the decent camera (which I never used). Sitting in the dentist’s office for 4 1/2 hours today…you read that correctly, I got bored and decided to try out the camera on the dinosaur of a phone I am using until my next upgrade. It resembles this:

Hopefully that explains the quality of the photos in this post. Loree’s jaundice American Girl Doll, my over-sized nose and proof that homeschooling can work…Aaron is now practicing dentistry.

Our buddies brought their boat to our house today. The kids were properly flung around the bay on the water biscuit. 4 adults, 9 kids, bottles of sunscreen, picnic on the water…no major injuries…
Perfect day!

Grilling chicken, YUM!

Ashlie and her Robo-leg…as Loree calls it.

And planting flowers we bought at our neighborhood’s Garden Club fundraiser.

Very good Saturday!
More pictures to come…

Here we are…The shop is closed and we haven’t looked back. We have readjusted and we are REALLY enjoying where we live, our new friends and sand in our toes whenever we want! I am switching the focus of this blog to more of a “What’s going on in our little world?” type thang. So, welcome back!
Saturday was Phil’s graduation from Seamanship Training on the Elissa in the Galveston Harbor. He has been working hard for the past 6 months to learn the ropes (he he).

“Students not only learn the basic skills needed to sail as junior crew members aboard ELISSA, but also receive instruction in folklore and customs of the sea, maritime history, and seamanship skills. Each student is paired with an experienced ELISSA volunteer crew member, who also acts as their mentor on the daysail.” (From the Elissa website)
Phil has really enjoyed new friends, new skills and, yes, the hard work. We are so proud of him!

The Volunteers and Adult Crew gave out the honors to the Youth Crew between glugs of grog.

Phil didn’t get any grog, but received a certificate and then…
We were all surprised with a boat trip around the Galveston Harbor.

And for those that don’t know, Galveston has a rich history of ghost action.

Here is “The Face” that you can see from the Harbor. Read if you dare…
The captain on our boat…

And dolphins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are located at:

We are introducing the 2nd in a series of posters depicting the many loved places lost during Hurricane Ike.
Come out and see us!

We get to see these ships take off a few times a week. I had never been close to one until we opened the shop. I didn’t realize how huge they were. Watching them leave makes me want one of these…
