Here we are…The shop is closed and we haven’t looked back.  We have readjusted and we are REALLY enjoying where we live, our new friends and sand in our toes whenever we want!  I am switching the focus of this blog to more of a “What’s going on in our little world?” type thang.  So, welcome back!

Saturday was Phil’s graduation from Seamanship Training on the Elissa in the Galveston Harbor.  He has been working hard for the past 6 months to learn the ropes (he he).

“Students not only learn the basic skills needed to sail as junior crew members aboard ELISSA, but also receive instruction in folklore and customs of the sea, maritime history, and seamanship skills. Each student is paired with an experienced ELISSA volunteer crew member, who also acts as their mentor on the daysail.”  (From the Elissa website)

Phil has really enjoyed new friends, new skills and, yes, the hard work.  We are so proud of him!

Phil didn’t get any grog, but received a certificate and then…

We were all surprised with a boat trip around the Galveston Harbor.

And for those that don’t know, Galveston has a rich history of ghost action.
